   There was a law firm there: Sheehan Greene Golderman & Jacques. There now is a law firm there: the Albany office of Lippes Mathias Wexler Friedman LLP. The Albany office of the Lippes firm occupies the suite once occupied by the Sheehan firm. Some lawyers of the Sheehan firm (for example, William F. Sheehan and Lawrence H. Schaefer) became lawyers and partners of the Lippes firm. The big client of the Sheehan firm (NYSCOPBA union) became a client of the Lippes firm. The Sheehan firm's telephone number, (518) 462-0110, became the telephone number of the Albany office of the Lippes firm.. The two firms are intimately related to each other. Much of our Lippes pages was written when the suite was occupied by the Sheehan firm. When we refer to the "firm," we usually mean the Sheehan firm or the Albany office of the Lippes firm.

   seems to
   consist of cases started
   by the firm's clients against
   government, especially the
   New York State government.
   Most of those litigation clients seem to be:
   former or current government officers
   and a union of such
   officers, NYSCOPBA.
   The Lippes firm's Albany office seems to lose
   many of the court cases it starts.
   
   The firm lobbies for the NYSCOPBA union.
   
   Keith Richard Jacques, who was a partner of the Sheehan firm,
   seems to manage Lippes's Albany office.
   He is involved in lobbying for NYSCOPBA.
   
   Before being at
   54 State Street, the Sheehan firm seems to have been at

      Albany, NY 12207,
   and at
      121 State Street
      Albany, NY 12207.
   
   When the Sheehan firm had been in suite 1001
   of 54 State Street for years,
   the Lippes firm moved into that suite.
   
   Before being in that suite, the Lippes firm seems to have been at

   with phone (518) 869-9500.

   the Sheehan and Lippes firms.

   Some of the firm's attorneys seem to have lived in Clifton Park, New York.
   
   As far as we know,
   two of the firm's attorneys, Lawrence H. Schaefer and William F. Sheehan,
   seem to have spouses, Dana Jill Reifler Schaefer and Dolores A. (Agnes?) Tuohy Sheehan,
   who are attorneys of
   the state government of New York.
   They worked at
   NYS DEC (New York State Department of Environmental Conservation).
   Today (2022 August 22), Dolores still works there.
   Dana now works for WCB (Workers Compensation Board).
   We don't know if Lippes's Albany office does
   workers compensation work.

   In 2006, the responsibilities of attorney Thien-Nga "Tina" Nguyen-Clark
   (later Thien-Nga "Tina" Nguyen-Muller)
   supposedly included
   handling military discrimination cases in which she worked against the US government.
   Lawrence Henry "Larry" Schaefer did legal work and other work for the U.S. military.
   He was counsel and executive officer at the Watervliet Arsenal.
   He was a staff judge advocate in the Air National Guard.
   He was a deputy staff judge advocate in Qatar.
